Football Drill Coach
Build a drill, watch it move, share it in seconds. A tactics board that runs in your browser, with no account and no sign-up.
Your drills stay yours
There's no account, no sign-up and no server. Everything runs and is stored in your own browser.
When you share a drill as a link, the drill travels inside the link itself. It never reaches a server.
To move to a new device, export a backup file and import it there.
From a blank pitch to a full session
Built for grassroots and youth coaches, academy staff and assistant coaches.
Set up the board
- Five player colours, including one for neutrals or jokers
- Optional shirt numbers or initials
- Cones, text labels, up to 8 balls, and portable goals from a 1 m mini goal up
Draw runs and passes
Solid arrows for runs, dashed arrows for passes. Both can curve, so you can bend a pass round a defender to the far post. Straight lines mark out zones, channels and thirds.
Pick your pitch
Full pitch, half pitch, or blank grass for grids and rondos, each in landscape or portrait.
Watch it move
Build a drill as a sequence of phases and play it back as a smooth animation. Players ease into position, a passed ball travels in a straight line, and a dribbled ball stays at the player's feet. You set the timing of each phase.
Move shapes, not dots
Drag a box around several players to move a whole shape with the formation intact. Copy a group to mirror a shape. Undo and redo cover everything.
Notes that travel with the drill
Every drill carries its setup, coaching points and progressions, and each phase can have its own note.
Library and tags
Save drills and filter them by tags such as "rondo", "pressing" or "u12".
Plan whole sessions
Put drills in order with minutes for each and see the running total. Step through the session on the board.
Present it
Go full screen in front of the players. You can still drag pieces while presenting.
Share it however your coaches work
Send to another coach
Share a drill from the Share menu. The other coach previews it before importing, and importing never overwrites the drills they already have.
Image
A PNG of the board, with your notes in a band below the pitch.
Animated GIF
A looping animation of the drill that plays wherever an image can go.
Session PDF
A cover page with the running order and total time, then one page per drill with diagrams and notes. Ready to print.
A look inside

Ready for AI assistants
The drill format is open and documented. The board publishes an agents.md guide, a JSON Schema, example drills and an llms.txt file.
Ask an AI assistant to write a drill or a whole session, then open it in the board. The board checks it before it's saved.
Open source
Football Drill Coach is open source. Read the code, run your own copy, or suggest an improvement.
